I Miss My Dad
My Dad passed away 4 years and 4 months ago and it still seems as awful today without him as it did the day it happened.
He was a really great person who truly thought of others before himself and if he could help anyone he would do.
He meant the World to me but I never told him till nearer the end but I should be grateful that at least I got to tell him.
He found out he had lung cancer as he was taking one of my brothers to the hospital for treatment for testicluar cancer not knowing at that time he was suffering from cancer too.
I think he knew he wouldn't make it although they finally operated and got it all out.It was a blood clot that travelled to his heart and killed him a few days after coming home from hospital.
He had been a big smoker and vowed if he had a second chance, as we thought he had, he would never smoke again and I believe he wouldn't.
He asked my husband to quit smoking and he did, he threw them in the bin there and then as it upset him so much to see my Dad ill. They were very close.
My Dad was really pleased and said that if he didn't make it through this if something good came out of it he'd be happy.
I think he'd be happy now, it's been 4 years and 6 months since Andrew last smoked.
I miss my Dad everyday and we were very close. I can feel him round me and I know he'll continue to help me whenever he can.
He told me before he died he'd always be with me and he's kept his promise, as I knew he would.
I love you always Dad and want to thank you for being a friend and a good one at that as well as the best Dad ever.
Someone to talk to and never judge you or shout as you.Instead he'd talk and reason with you.
You're perfect to me Dad, the best ever and I'll always be proud to be your daughter and if somone asks if I'm Kevin's daughter I say yes with pride.
Fortunately my brother is well although he's had a few scares and we always worry if he's feeling ill.
My Dad was a big man by build and had a big heart with so much love in it and in return he was loved by everyone.
I'm not the only one who lost him.My Mum , his Mum, my 3 brothers and countless other family members and friends. He was truly loved by all.
Thanks Dad for being there and I'll love you forever and always.
Lots of love,
Linda
