I Miss My Dad

Daddy, it's been 4 weeks to the day that you were taken so swiftly from us. I wish that I could have been there when you had that heart attack, in the moments before you took your last breath. I wish I could have been in the hospital to hold your hand before it became cold. I wish the first time I saw you again wasn't in the funeral home, in that cold casket. I'm so glad that we spoke the week that you passed away. I know that you know that I love you and I know that you loved both of your daughters and you were proud of us. I want so much for you to be here, for you to make me laugh, to practice my Spanish with you, to show your love for God in all that you do. You were never a complicated or extravagant person; you had what you needed and that was enough. You taught me the value of working hard and the joy that loving and serving God can bring. I might not have said it or even thought it enough, but I am and always will be proud that you are my Dad, now and forever. We all love you and miss you, but we are so happy that you are with Jesus in Heaven. Love, your first born
