I Miss My Dad

My dad passed away 22nd December 2002 in a hospital in London , England. He died of Lung cancer although it was not that that killed him , it was pneumonia . I didn't find this out until the day I went to collect his death certificate from the hospital . I had a wonderful relationship with my dad and I couldn`t believe he had gone and left me , although I was pleased that he was in on more pain . I to did not think counselling would help I thought I would be able to cope on my own . I eventually went to a group called CYANA ( this means Cancer You Are Not Alone ) , they have been my salvation . What have I said to my dad : I love you for being my dad , my rock , my life but most of all my best friend , thank you for being their when I needed you . I wrote a poem and every time I fill low I read it over and I know my wonderful , funny dad has not left me . I hope you like it and it brings someone else some comfort . My Dad When you lose someone so dear to you , Your life goes down a different road . You still love that person, but life will never be the same , Their will be different people to meet , But that one person goes with you where ever you go , They are in your hearts , So really you have not lost them , Just look inside your heart and they will be their to guide you , For the rest of your life . your daughter Joan xxxxxxxx It is his birthday on the 6th November so I will read this again and hope it can bring me some comfort .
