I Miss My Dad

I miss you so much dad. I thought I had more time with you. You hid your pain so well. If I had another chance this is what I would say. "I love you Dad. I know we've had our ins and outs, but mostly ins. We had a lot of fun times together, times I'll never forget. I know you have a lot of regrets. Please be at peace with yourself and know that you are so loved by all those who know you. I wish we could've spent more time together and that you could have gotten to know your grandsons better. That is partly my fault. I was scared to witness your failing health. I know now that the last time we had a conversation on the phone you knew your time was near, you felt well enough to call and chat so that I could have one last good memory. Thank you. It worked. I'm so sorry for all of your pain. Rest in peace."
