I Miss My Dad

Daddy, I miss you so much! It is so hard to believe that someone with such a huge presence in my life is suddenly gone. The evidence of your life is all around us, and yet the person who made it all happen is missing. Our family is drifting without you - we're all so lost! It's like the anchor of our ship has been ripped off. People say to me, "He's in a better place - he's in heaven now" but those people must not really have known you, beecause if they did, they would know that you'd rather be with us than ANYWHERE else, even heaven. You were all about your family - especially your grandson, the apple of your eye. He asks about you all the time, you know - he wants to know if he can call you up in heaven to say hello because he misses you. I feel like I'm mourning your loss twice as much - once for myself and the father I have lost, and once for my son, who won't get to know you like I did. You were the BEST grandpa, Dad. I never realized how hard this was going to be, how much it was going to hurt. I love you so much more than I could ever put into words and god, I hope you knew that...and STILL know that...
