I Miss My Dad

How this site works:

Very simply. People email me their message to their Dad and I post it. I post messages as is. I put them in groups of 100, and the newer letters appear at the bottom the list.

Although the site was started to accept messages to Dads, I have received emails from people who lost their Moms, Grandparents and others. I am pleased that they sent an email and am more than happy to post all messages.

Maintaining this site helps me in many ways. I am especially gratified to have received emails from people who say that this site has helped them in some small way.

I am very lucky to have had such a wonderful man as my Dad, and I am very grateful that we had such a good relationship. He has given me many gifts. I hope that I'll be able to pass them on to my own children as they grow. In a way, this site is a gift from my Dad to all who might be helped by it.

First Update to the site in 9 years in February 2010!

I guess I am what they call a technology laggard. On a personal note I only recently got on Facebook. Seeing how easy it is for like-minded people to hang out on a group page a share thoughts got me thinking that we should do the same. So I created a Facebook group "I Miss My Dad.com". Enjoy!

Another update in January 2012!

I just got a kindle for Christmas and it is so cool and pleasing to the eye to read on it, unlike the monitor on my desk. So I took a few hundred letters, sent them off to Amazon, and now we have an ebook excerpt of the site. We'll see if people like the convenience of these things...
