I Miss My Dad
Hello everybody,
My name is Helen, I am 27 years old and understand what everyone here is going through, I too lost my father in 1997 it was a difficult thing to see, he had diabetes lost his eye sight and eventually died of complications to diabetes. It has been 4 years since his passing & I have to admit it is soooo! much better, time has healed my heart. When he first passed I was screaming, crying, and suffering his loss, it was awful, but this is what will help you heal: let out your frustration tell them why you feel so guilty about their death (everyone feels guilty) I guess I felt guilty the most cause he wanted to spend all of his time with his kids and honestly were too young, we would rather go party spend time with friends or boyfriends, we made time at least once a week to visit but we didn't know he was going to die. He's gone and I've suffered and he knows how much my brothers & I loved him, He sometimes visits me in my sleep and he told me everything will be O.K. I asked him where he was and he just disappeared. When I do get the chance to dream about him at least once a year I always hug him so tight smell him and tell him how much I love him. We called him TATA, he was a proud Serbian man who was sometimes too proud I remember how mad he got when I started dating a man of a different race, when he lost his eyesight he realized that color didn't matter, and one of his dying wishes as told to me by my fiancé was, TAKE CARE OF HELEN. he also told my brother and I to TAKE CARE OF ALEX our brother who suffers with a mental illness. You know all that our loved ones want is for us to take care of ourselves, to succeed to make the best of our lives not to suffer, remembering is O.K. laughing about those funny times is even better, and sometimes crying about things that you feel bad about will eventually heal your heart. DON'T FEEL SORRY FOR YOURSELF!, make the right decision and make them proud let them see how positive you have become how strong you have been and show them how much you love them by not making them worry about you. YOU MUST MOVE ON! LIFE IS SHORT!
GOOD LUCK! KEEP SMILING:-)
